“No, I can’t,” Christine snapped. “Those animals ruined my life. Even though it was ten years ago, I can still feel their filthy hands on me. Do you know what it’s like to wash yourself a thousand times and still feel dirty? Do you know what it’s like to recoil from the touch of any man, to hate all men?” She laughed harshly, “No, by God, you don’t — and never will. But I’m not going to forget and I won’t forgive.”
